Overview
We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support development and maintenance of various components of AVA. Focus is on applied research, exploratory analysis and development of innovative components to grow engagement of users, specifically in the area of public safety. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with a wide range of problems from AI domain and collaborate with other functional teams inside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify, ingest and enrich a wide range of structured and unstructured data into datasets for analytics.
- Develop both prototypes and scalable (automated) solutions.
- Extensive code development, debugging, optimization and productionizing.
- Support the development of machine learning pipeline architecture.
- Be able to work in teams and collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and communicate ideas effectively.
Mandatory qualifcations
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong problem solving skills with emphasis on math and statistics.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Data Mining algorithms and techniques.
- Experience with Python programming language.
- Experience with common Python data science libraries and toolkits, such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for communication across teams.
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
Beneficial qualifications
- Advanced knowledge in Natural Language Processing and Predictive Analytics.
- Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
- Experience with data visualisation.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data scraping.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to detect and resolve data/analytics quality issues.
