Head of API (Senior Engineer)
Job location: Belgrade
Job Description
We're looking for a senior software engineer who wants to develop our RESTful API and help grow the ecosystem of partners using it to exchange data on our school data platform, all geared around making schools’ lives easier. We are working on projects with some of the world's biggest education tech companies, as well as some of the smallest, and we believe a slick API is the best way to help schools get the most out the 1000s of data points they collect each day.
As Head of API, you'll work with our R&D team, the API Partnership lead and commercial teams to address scalability, performance and ease of use of the REST API, which we make freely available to all users (unlike our competitors). You'll get to help shape the architectural and commercial strategy around support for the API too.
Requirements
- You'll need strong PHP and OO skills.
Benefits
Our culture
When choosing a place to work, we believe culture is key. After all, it’s where you’ll spend the majority of your week! Our offices in Belgrade are located in Nova Iskra, a design incubator and modern coworking space in the city centre where time spent at work does not always feel like work. We like our working atmosphere casual with flexible working hours (as long as they are reasonable). When we wake up, we look forward to coming in, and find our jobs challenging, stimulating and enjoyable. We let good arguments and not hierarchy shape our discussions. We want to learn from and share experiences with the best in the business at workshops and conferences. We think we’re pretty lucky. We’re also motivated to make a difference to education, and take pride in working for a business that’s trying to make a lasting, positive impact on the world.
We value our team more than anything and will provide you with everything you need to move your career to the next level. This includes full time employment, competitive salary, top of the range equipment, an amazing work environment, healthy cooked meals daily and opportunity for continuous professional and personal development.
