What team will you be on?
You will be part of the eFront Provider engineering team, which is part of the wider global eFront technology team responsible for building the software systems used by our clients across the Private Markets industry. We are a Java based team working to create critical systems based a set of loosely coupled microservice. We are closely aligned with our Product Managers and external clients to ensure we are delivering maximum value for our clients. We are proud of our track record of delivery while focussing heavily on software quality, scalability and automation.

eFront and Private Markets are a huge growth area for Blackrock and the broader industry. It is a central pillar of our goal to allow more people to experience financial wellbeing. This role is directly connected to that vision and presents a significant opportunity to have a real impact on the way we build and deliver software. You will join a small number of technically strong key individuals and together implement our vision for future-ready, highly available systems. What will you be doing?
- Working closely with Product Managers and Designers to deliver user-focused features on our new eFront platform.
- Actively participate in the team’s agile delivery process, completing sprint tasks and writing high quality code, unit tests and automated integration tests to move features to production.
- Provide high quality technical input to team discussions on system design, seeing those efforts all the way through to final delivery.
What are we looking for?
- Experience designing and building scalable services using API-First principles using at least one of REST/gPRC.
- Expertise in Java/Spring Framework/Sprint Boot
- Exposure to gRPC, Protobuff, and Kubernetes beneficial
- A real-world practitioner of applying cloud-native design patterns to event-driven microservice architectures.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with an ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
- Demonstrable experience building modern software using engineering tools such as git, maven, unit testing and integration testing tools, mocking frameworks.
- Curious, friendly, positive and can-do attitude.
