We are looking for a data analyst! Someone who is passionate about deriving meaning from data with particular application to the ’science of science’. They should also have analytical background and be keen to learn new skills in data analysis, processing and communication and all other aspects of the data science workflow.
The person will support other colleagues in ISI (The Institute for Scientific Information™) in:
- Extracting and preparing data for analysis
- Carrying out various machine learning, network, statistical or other analyses for reports and other projects
- Creating data visualizations
- Preparing data for various university rankings
- Supporting our Global Institutional Profiles Project which collects data about institutions globally
What are we looking for:
- Competent with SQL and Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in Python
- Experience with the Python data analysis ecosystem, e.g. Pandas, numpy, scipy, dask would be a plus
- Understanding of academic literature would be useful to provide experience of the research domain. This could come from experience writing articles or proposals, or through use of Web of Science, Scopus or Google Scholar.
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical/numerical subject (including, but not limited to, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering disciplines, data science)
