Job Description:
Avast Software is seeking an independent QA engineer to help us develop our new flagship product Avast Secure Browser (https://www.avast.com/secure-browser). You will become a member of an international team with a ‘startup’ atmosphere, using an agile and data-driven approach to development. We are looking for a pro-active QA engineer with a passion for learning new technologies and best-practices, so if you are a bright, motivated engineer who enjoys working on interesting and challenging problems we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate should have startup experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually test the product (as a foundation to other testing activities)
- Create bug reports in JIRA
- Create and maintain test documentation
- Monitor customer feedback after release to improve product quality
- Support team members on priority releases
- Participate in analysis and design of our product
- Collaborate with other international team members and teams
- Write and execute test cases to find system bugs like UI and Usability issues.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle
- Experience in using browser Developer Tools like Chrome DevTools
- Experience in using Traffic monitoring software like Fiddler, Wireshark, Charles Proxy etc.
- Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Proactive member of the team
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript
- Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS
- Experience in writing automated tests using Selenium (we automate in Python)
- Experience with testing web pages and web services
- Knowledge of software & security best practices
- Experience working in a fast paced Agile environment.
