Machine Learning Engineer

Your role

We are looking for a versatile and motivated software engineer, specialized in Machine Learning services, who will contribute to ideas and participate in shaping the future. You will work in a high paced environment and help in building the next-generation machine learning products that rely on predictive modeling for EyeSee. To a certain extent, you will be given the ownership and autonomy over the research and development of your projects and you will be expected to execute well and on time. Your work will enable other engineering teams and data scientists to unlock the full potential of our data.

Responsibilities

• Support existing codebases for data integration and production support for our core models
• Gather and analyze large scale data sets from multiple sources
• Participate in both early-stage algorithm design and prototyping and later-stage algorithm implementation and testing
• Collaboratively develop, implement, and test a variety of deep learning algorithms
• Explore a variety of approaches
• Refine promising ideas into ready models
• Present your results to business and engineering teams with your findings
• Work on data cleaning, validation and visualization by utilizing internal and 3rd party tools
• Read research papers and blogs to keep up to date with latest developments in machine learning
• Challenge the status quo and strive to get better with every iteration

An ideal candidate would have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Information Technology
• 2+ years of experience in Machine Learning applications development with strong to expert knowledge of Python as a primary language
• Proficiency and hands on work experience with Python and Jupyter-notebooks
• Experience with Python web frameworks (Flask, Django-web, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of Python libraries for data manipulation and visualization (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, etc.)
• Experience in working with computer vision such as OpenCV
• Experience in working with and integrating services from popular ML packages such as SciKit Learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost
• Experience in building automated processes that are supportable and monitored
• Collaboration skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to self-manage and adjust work efficiency/speed as needed to meet deadlines
• Willingness to consider all sides of an idea, and be open to new ways of thinking
• Initiative in learning new technologies

Bonus

• Experience with C++, image processing, object detection, tracking, facial coding, eye tracking
• Demonstrated experience in creating product ready models
• Proven track record of creating and implementing testing protocols and scenarios
• Experience in building products or services that require high-performance and scalability, especially RESTful web services using AWS or similar solutions
• Demonstrated ability to take a ML project from an idea to experimentation to prototype to implementation for industrial or academic research projects
• Work or research experience with implementation of computer vision/image analysis algorithms
• Above-average capabilities with cloud computing techniques or tools such as S3, EC2, EMR, SageMaker, ECS, Lambda, IAM
