Job Description

The ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of tools, languages, systems and architectures while building scalable services and platforms to power current and future products.

• Be part of an engineering team that builds and supports amazing customer-facing products that provide innovative solutions to challenging programming and design problems;
• Design, develop and implement changes and enhancements on PHP based platforms providing awesome user experiences in desktop and mobile devices;
• Perform a mix of front-end and back-end development on new and existing sites;
• Build out new features and iterate on existing features;
• Develop new integrations and custom extensions;
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs found in existing installations;
• Migrate live Magento 1 projects to Magento 2;
• Integrate PHP solutions with other third-party systems;
• Build out unit tests and other automated tests;
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QE/QA and other Zilker teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results forward;
• Accurately scope effort, identify risks and clearly communicate trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders;
• Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions;
• Ensure the shipment of high quality products and features.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Magento 1 development;
• Experience in Magento 2 development;
• Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration experience;
• Proficient with JavaScript/jQuery, PHP 5, HTML/CSS, OOP, MySQL;
• Knowledge of data structures and understanding of database transactions;
• Ability to understand requirements and map to technical implementation;
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT;
• Expertise in Software Design and Architecture;
• Scrum, Agile Process, Unit Testing & Test Driven Development;
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team;
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment;
• Strong initiative, commitment, and a positive, "whatever" it takes, attitude.
