Native Android Application Developer (f/m) Berlin (Germany)

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products are essential.
Duties on deck:
- Work within a mobile team responsible for developing new and supporting existing native Android applications
- Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code using some of well know android architectures
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Communicate with a team who will be responsible for developing API and push message systems leveraged by the native applications
- Timely communication of issues and status information to team lead concerning system development activities and progress
- Follow provided requirements and create or modify systems as required
Your treasure of experience:
- 1+ years of Android native application programming experience
- Strong knowledge of Java, Android SDK, different versions of Android
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Familiarity with Firebase cloud message APIs and push notifications
- Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
- Experience with the Gradle build system
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Experience with the Google Play submission process
- Experience working with profiling and automated/integration testing tools
- Fundamental understanding of memory management
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
Extra knots for:
- Understanding and working with a clean architecture
- Experience with Firebase (Analytics, Crash reporting, etc.)
- Understand how to deal with different screen sizes (phone, phablet, tablet etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Kotlin
