Senior Backend Developer for Bownty.com

Job location: Belgrade

Bownty helps consumers get the most out of their city – and their money - by collecting and curating the best discounted experiences from hundreds of partner sites around Europe. We’re like Kayak, but for cool things to do. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, we are currently active in 9 European countries, serve more than 2 million users and have more than 1.000 new offers added to the platform every day.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with strong systems development experience to join our development team in Belgrade. While working closely together with our frontend developer and our CPO, you will be part of a team that is skilled, cross-functional and self-driven. We trust that you thrive in a small company and are motivated by the responsibility and pressure from being the main driver of backend development.

We would like to have a job interview in Belgrade on 23^rd of March.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

Design, prototype and develop new features and applications, used by both users, colleagues and partners
Implement and maintain product feeds from partners
Create clean, concise, robust, maintainable and thoroughly tested code.
Work in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies

We expect that you have:

Strong experience using PHP and MySQL.
Experience using CakePHP (preferably v3).
Experience developing B2C web applications.
Experience with JSON/XML.
Experience using GIT and version control.
Some exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, REST, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS)
Curiosity towards new technology and trends.
Fluent skills in English – both written and spoken.
More than 3 years of coding experience.
