As a Senior IP Network Engineer, you will provide Technical Support and Services to commercially deployed solutions for our customers’ networks and for Aspire Open RAN lab.
You will troubleshoot technical issues and design workarounds and solutions to resolve these issues. You will develop strategies and provide consultation to customers on optimizing their network performance and for further evolution of Aspire corporate network and Open RAN lab from IP network perspective.
The position will include the management/monitoring of existing commercially deployed telecommunications networks and Aspire lab infrastructure and the design, installation, test & commission of new telecommunications infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Technical coordination of all Open RAN lab engagements from IP and infrastructure perspective
- Document network design and administer and document network identifier assignment (IP prefixes/addresses, VLAN IDs, VRFs, etc)
- Participation in mobile operator network deployment, monitoring and e2e TCP optimization/improvement projects
- Participation in projects requirements gathering and implementing operator requirements
- Perform regular Audits of customers IP/MPLS networks
- Providing preventive maintenance based on performed Audits
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems to stabilize and optimize our customers' networks 2nd and 3rd level incident and problem management (i.e. configuration and troubleshooting of connectivity requirements - mostly IPsec and security related)
- Support, monitor and operate Aspire's lab network (switches, firewalls, WiFi access points, …) - drive implementation of new services from the network side;
- Provide troubleshooting for connectivity issues;
- Assist in configuring the servers and services;
- Monitor network performance and propose capacity expansions;
- Monitor for failures and resolve the issues;
- Provide secure remote access to network resources for partners (VPN);
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced and graduate IP engineers
Required Experience and competence:
Candidates for the above roles will need to have broad and deep experience within telecommunications and Data Networks, covering areas like hardware, software and network architecture.
You will need to have deep and proven experience in the following:
- Minimum five years’ experience in the telecommunications/Enterprise/Service Providers industry
- Considerable hands-on experience in deploying and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, KPI analysis, Wireshark packet-capture analysis and troubleshooting; Experience with Juniper and Cisco IP network equipment is a plus.
- Service provider networks, internet network architecture and routing protocols and technologies including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS. Knowledge of Mobile Network Architecture (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G) is a plus.
- Knowledge of operation and performance of transport layer protocols (UDP & especially TCP) and application layer protocols (DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, QUIC*); DNS operation; transparent proxy operation; CDN and caching architectures;
- PTP & Synchronous Ethernet knowledge would be a plus
- Network virtualization (VMWare vSwitch operation) and network automation (Ansible/Python/Go) abilities could be an important differentiator
- Have proven skills in technical document writing (status reports, technical bulletins, design documents)
- Proven demonstrable examples of where you have driven complex coordination and technical issues to a conclusion, exhibiting a ‘get up and go’ attitude to problem resolution
- Considerable experience working with operators, and an appreciation of what the issues are for network operators, combined with a demonstrated willingness to drive issues to resolution

Required Education and certificates:
- A Bachelor of Science or Engineering (Degree) in IT, telecommunications or equivalent
- CCNP/JNCIP or equivalent knowledge
- CCIE R&S/Data Centers preferred, could be a key differentiator
