Role Summary
In this role, you will develop the test automation software for Rivian’s EPC embedded software, and support Software-in-Loop development.
Responsibilities
- Own whole life cycle of SIL platform development: You'll lead a small team and your responsibilities include architecting, design, implementation, deployment and continuous improvement of the SIL test platform, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and compatibility with diverse software components.
- Tool and Technology Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SIL testing process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, QA test engineers, and system architects, to understand testing requirements and integrate the SIL platform seamlessly into the development pipeline. Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and aligning the team with organizational goals.
- Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges and provide strategic solutions to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the SIL testing platform.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for the SIL testing platform, including design specifications, guidelines, and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback, and implementing enhancements to optimize the SIL testing process. Drive innovation in SIL testing methodologies, incorporating emerging trends and best practices to continuously improve the testing platform.
Qualifications
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive the development of a cutting-edge SIL testing platform.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in software development and testing, with a focus on SIL or simulation environments.
- Previous automotive experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in SIL development (e.g., C, C++, Python).
- Strong understanding of SIL testing methodologies and simulation techniques.
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools, such as Simulink.
- Knowledge of automotive technologies such as CAN networks, PWM and power electronics, ADCs and Motor modeling are preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with testing and quality assurance processes, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of SIL testing results.
- Proficient in creating comprehensive documentation for SIL platforms, including design specifications and guidelines.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams, including software developers, QA engineers, and system architects.
