IO Global, creator of the Cardano blockchain platform, is looking for a Java Technical Consultant to join its Professional Services team. As part of the team you will work every day to apply blockchain technologies to solve people’s problems. You will bridge the gap between real-life problems and tip-of-the-spear technology. Your mission
As a Java Technical Consultant you will be responsible for designing solutions for IOG's customers. The Java Technical Consultant must understand the client's products well enough to be able to advise on and then build and troubleshoot solutions with them. The role is customer-facing, and requires creativity, eagerness to learn, and the ability to solve complex problems. This role requires deep knowledge of the Java enterprise ecosystem and willingness to learn Scala.
The role requires both product management and business development skills:
- Maintain the use case applicability database
- Work with product managers to understand the capabilities and components of IOG’s products
- Prepare and lead workshops, calls, ideation retreats, and any other necessary customer or partner interaction that is necessary to define the requirements for an opportunity
- Identify project risks, blockchain applicability, product alignment, and (overall) make sure the necessary data is ready for the go/no-go decision
- Be able to describe an opportunity in terms of IOG's product components
- Analyze customer problems, gather requirements and transform them into an actionable statement of work.
Requirements
Your expertise
- Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, logic, physics, or a related subject (bachelor or above)
- Coding experience in functional programming languages, with required on-the-job experience of three years or more
- Deep knowledge of the JVM
- Deep knowledge of the Java programming language
- Minimum of five years’ experience of gathering requirements and designing solutions
- Experience in distributed systems and networking would be beneficial
- Experience working in an agile set-up would be good (scrum, kanban).
