We have partnered with Smurfit Kappa, and for their Global IS team, we are searching for an experienced Developer to join their team. They are undertaking an exciting global IS transformation program that will set the foundation for their success.
About the role:
The Senior Developer role is the key technical role for the Global ServiceNow Platform.
This role works on the design, development, and operational support of the Platform and business and IT developments on the Platform. The Senior Developer is responsible for Platform’s technical design (architecture) and roadmap. The Senior Developer has sound technical ability and strong experience in ServiceNow architecture and implementation across different modules in complex global organizations.
Your accountabilities:
- Responsible for working in close collaboration across IT disciplines to design, develop and configure the ServiceNow platform using agile methodologies
- Responsible for ongoing development of the ServiceNow platforms, including delivering solution designs on time and acting as Scrum Master where appropriate
- Following DevOps principles lead to the development of highly automated support mechanisms and related tooling to support releases, change management, monitoring, alerting, backup, and other operational activities
- Promote the platform by identifying innovation opportunities to promote new technical developments
- Responsible for releases including CI/CD tools and automation of development and operational tasks
- Provides day-to-day operational support to the Platform using DevOps methodologies
- Support, coach, and mentor less experienced members of the team
- Ensure internal processes and rules are followed and that DevOps tooling is functional, effective, and compliant with Smurfit Kappa regulatory requirements, security, data privacy, and other policies
- Promote effective Agile and DevOps principles and related technologies through proactively developing methodologies, tooling, and processes to deliver effective development and support of the platform.
Reports to: Manager, ServiceNow Platform Business
This role sits within the ServiceNow team, part of the Global Platform function in Global IS.
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience:
- Ability to gather and understand business requirements, manage and effectively prioritize demand
- Configuration of service requests, workflows, approvals, and user criteria
- Scripting and integration knowledge;
- Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL processes
- Holding the certifications for ServiceNow Developer, Agile and Test Management, Automated Test Framework, Integration Hub and Service Portal, and Predictive Intelligence or willing to become certified
- Business English
- Team player, strong communication and solution orientated Customer focused
Desirable:
- Significant Experience in ServiceNow configuration and custom development in a global multi-company setting;
- Ability to demonstrate significant experience in Agile and DevOps ways of working;
