It’s cool to see a throwback to this Horizon 2016 event. That was such a pivotal year for the Belgrade gaming scene, especially with companies like Ubisoft and Nordeus really starting to put the region on the map. I remember being particularly interested in the segment on "Programming AAA games" by the Ubisoft team—it’s fascinating how much goes on behind the scenes that the average player never sees.Back then, I was doing some volunteer work for a small indie group, and we were constantly struggling with our infrastructure. We actually had to set up a dedicated fiber link for our main build server because the local network couldn't handle the asset transfers. I remember the headache of trying to find a compatible 1-port network transceiver https://serverorbit.com/network-devices/network-transceiver-modules/1-port-en that worked with our older switches just to get that single high-speed line running. It felt like such a massive technical hurdle at the time, but seeing how the pros at Ubisoft manage massive repositories makes our little 1-port setup look like a toy. It really shows that whether you’re indie or AAA, the network hardware is the unsung hero.Looking at how much has changed since 2016, do you think the local industry has finally moved past that "when are you getting a real job" stigma that Mad Head discussed?
