    Let us introduce Jelena, a member of our DevOps team in Novi Sad! She started her career in this field almost three years ago, and, as she likes to say, it started by accident when she got a laptop as a present, but with Linux on it. The curiosity took the lead as she wanted to figure out more about what is happening behind the machine’s pretty colors. Step by step, Jelena became a Development and Operations engineer, which means that she is now supporting her development teams by providing an automated infrastructure that is stable for deploying their applications.     Prvo sto vas doceka kada dodjete u Symphony je jako prijatna i opustena atmosfera za rad, a moze se reci i za zivot. S obzirom da tu provodim i do 8h dnevno, za mene licno su okruzenje, ljudi i atmosfera jako bitne stvari. Benefit dugackog HR procesa je i granularnija selekcija ljudi koji su, u manjoj ili vecoj meri, kompatabilni jedni s drugima.

    Drugi glavni benefit je prilika za rad sa jednom od najvecih softverskih kuca. Know-how, organizacija i sl skills su presudne za profesionalni razvoj.
    Zamerke kompaniji
    Career path: ogromna zamerka kompaniji je nedovoljna briga o zaposlenima od strane mgnt-a. Dev career path ne postoji, manje vise ste ostavljeni sami sebi. Dobra stvar je sto imate uvek ljude s kojima mozete "popricati", ali nema nikakvih ustanovljenih procesa.

    Projekti: morate se izboriti za dobre projekte! Veliki deo fenomenalnih i pametnih ljudi je otislo iz ovog razloga, sto vidim kao veliki propust top mgnt-a. Ljudi nemaju prilike pokazati svoj pun potencijal.

    Kako je izgledao proces
    Prvi razgovor je zapravo bilo upoznavanje sa HR predstavnikom ove firme gde imate priliku i da predstavite sebe kao kandidata. Čitav razgovor je protekao u prilično prijateljskom i opuštenom tonu gde sam mogao da čujem o tome čime se bavi firma, kakvi su im outsourcing projekti, sa kojim timovima se radi, benefiti itd. Ne očekuje se od vas da sve znate i striktno ispunjavate uslove pozicije za koju aplicirate. Koliko sam shvatio, ostavljen vam je prostor za napredak na samoj poziciji ukoliko popunite njeno mesto. Ovo je ono što mi je rečeno na razgovoru koji je bio namenjen za upoznavanje. Ovo su neki od benefita koje firma nudi: Zaposlenje na puno radno vreme. Ugovor o radu na određeno (3 meseca). Jedina mana je što se nakon toga prelazi na ugovor na neodređeno koji uključuje probni rad od 3 meseca. Na svakih 6 meseci se radi evaluacija rada klijenta i firme kao poslodavca.; U firmi i su obezbeđeni doručak i ručak. Radno vreme je fleksibilno.; Privatno zdrastveno osiguranje; prvih 20 dana bolovanja je pokriveno od firme; prvih 5 dana se ne mora donositi lekarsko uverenje.; Nefinansijski benefiti poput teretane, bazena itd.; Postoji razmena radnika sa klijentima u inostranstvu i njihovim hub-ovima (Italija, Holandija, SAD itd.). Nakon ovog razgovora, postoje još dva kruga selekcije: Tehnički intervju i HR intervju (pola sata se radi psihološko-kognitivni test; sat vremena razgovor sa psihologom). Posebno mi se dopalo što je osoba sa kojom sam imao razgovor ujedno zakazala i tehnički intervju odmah sutradan. Ovakav pristup i ažurnost bi trebali svi da primenjuju. Tehnički razgovor je obavljen sa Principal DevOps-om. Tokom njega smo prolazili kroz tehnologije koje poznajem i sa kojima sam radio. Postavio mi je i po nekoliko tehničkih pitanja za svaku od tih tehnologija koju smo prokomentarisali. Razgovor je inače trebao trajati dva sata iako je trajao svega 45 minuta. Nekako mi se čini da je sagovornik hteo da što pre završi razgovor i vrati se svojim obavezama što je ispalo kontradiktorno od onoga kako su mi ga predstavili na inicijalnom razgovoru. Na kraju se ispostavilo da me ne mogu primiti jer klijent očekuje nekog sa spremnim znanjem prevashodno iz AWS-a. To je u redu. Ono što nije u redu je priča koja mi je predstavljena na razgovoru koji je prethodio ovom. Jedno je rekao HR menadžer, a sasvim drugo Principal. Priče im se nisu poklapale i očigledno je da ćete ovde izgubiti vreme ako ne poznajete sve ono što se traži od vas. Ne nasedajte odmah u sve što čujete na prvu jer ćete se prevariti na tehničkom razgovoru. To većina poslodavaca radi kako bi izgledali lepše u vašim očima i ostavili bolji utisak. Symphony je tipičan primer ovakvog pristupa.
