The Analyst is responsible for owning and developing all aspects of data analysis and reporting within the AMETEK CTS Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities of the BI Analyst include:
- Responsible for the development, testing and implementation and on-going support of all aspects of data analysis and reporting
- Design, create and implement the required functionality by utilizing technologies such as SQL Server, SQL Server Data Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Power BI, and Power Automate and Power Apps
- Develop SQL programs as required to support the business tasks
- Analyse business processes and the business environment and suggest processes, metrics and analysis to assist in business improvement
- Responsible for Data extraction and cleaning from a variety of sources and load into appropriate data structures
- Good understanding of change management process, Code review, and agile practices
- Train the extensive user base in use of the various analytical tools
- Review of current system data structure, and model new data structure based on current operational requirements. Evaluate and map existing data structure fields to for data integration.
- Perform testing of developments to assure accuracy and efficacy
- Lead and/or participate in analysis sessions with different CTS departments to determine application requirements for new analytical implementations
- Extend capability of the Analytical environment to improve business information and decision making
- Robust automation of processes to ensure error free, timely delivery of data and analysis
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or business administration required.
- At least 7 years experience in the IT Industry or as part of the IT Department of a large Company.
- At least 5 years experience of SQL and Micsrosoft’s reporting technologies, in particular experience with Power BI
- Good depth of knowledge in Microsoft Office and a deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel as a reporting and analytical tool
- Experience with PowerApps/Power Automate
- Experience of developing solutions using an Agile methodology
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with data access technologies including XML and ODATA
- Excellent communication skills to include internal/external interaction, documentation, and presentations
- Experience working in SDLC, testing, and validating solutions, and working as a data analyst Analyst.
- Proven ability to self-manage and complete project deliverables
- Confident in making decisions, accurate, detailed-oriented, and able to problem solve/analyze.
- Good interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication and basic project management skills.
- Functional and/or Technical Certifications as deemed appropriate for specialization.
- Excellent spoken and written English
