Together with our partner we are looking for a Backend Engineer who will join the team and work on the Vuokraovi project, a digital marketplace for renting apartments in Finland, providing easy and effective communication between tenants and landlords with a dynamic and flexible range of properties and options, from finding roommates to plots of land. The web-based marketplace makes it easy to apply for rental apartments by offering great versatility in search conditions and service types as well as information about the rental properties themselves.
Your responsibilities:
- Acting as a senior backend developer as part of the development team
- Analysis, design, and development with the above-mentioned technologies
- Effort estimation for own tasks
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team
- Make projects research and expand the know-how of the team
- Communication with other team members and customers in English
- Reporting of the activities performed
Your profile:
- Experience in backend development using Java
- Experience in technologies such as Spring, Hibernate/jOOQ, and Maven/Gradle
- Experience in modern UI technologies is considered a plus
- Experience in implementing microservices and REST APIs
- Experience of developing in AWS environment using infrastructure-as-code tools (Cloudformation, CDK), preferable cloud-native development
- Experience in working and designing with databases such as Postgres and DynamoDB
- Experience in backend development using NodeJS and TypeScript is considered a plus
- Experience in designing microservices and REST APIs with OpenAPI specification is considered a plus
- Understanding of Lambda-functions
- Fluent English skills (both written and verbal)
- Proficient in developing high-quality code
- Team player and able to closely collaborate with colleagues
- Basic knowledge and experience in using agile working methods
- BSc or MSc degrees in computer science or engineering is a plus
