
Business Analyst

The Business Analyst role comes as a natural extension of our engineering team, working on the solution of our partner - a New York based company, delivering workflow and data management solutions. You will be responsible for supporting, logging and troubleshooting issues with a tasks automation application used by hedge funds and financial institutions in the US. The application is a toolbox which allows customers to configure if-then-else tasks. For example if an email with subject XYZ is received connect to FTP XXXX and upload the file attached to the email. The automations can be nested and become quite complex. This is a client-facing position.
Working hours: 9:00-18:00 h
Your work will include:
- Addressing client support requests and working with them to troubleshoot an issue
- Escalation of any issues to the client team
- Compile support issues and determine if the support issues can be addressed with automation
- Troubleshooting FTP connections, SQL Server connections and login issues
- Help with organizing and matching our Agile Kanban board to company goals
- Creating a test plan based on tasks, bugs and stories from within the company Kanban board
- Creating a test plan based on tasks and bugs and stories from within our Kanban board
- Updating priority of tasks based on input from the team
- Taking Client installations of our existing clients and testing whether these client installations continue to work as expected (hundreds of jobs in a particular client)
Your posses the following qualifications:
- Familiarity with accounting including double entry accounting; Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Accruals
- Familiarity with Finance including buying and selling of equity stocks and bonds. A basic understanding of accruals
- Familiarity with some software packages including MS SQL (Querying), Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables, Vlookups)
- Familiarity with basic file communication functions: FTP, sFtp, Encryption, Email account configuration, Https
- Familiarity with Regular Expressions (nice to have)
- Software testing basics
- Detail-oriented and extremely organized
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills in English
- Customer-oriented approach towards clients and colleagues
