Our client is a European financial technology company specializing in the development and delivery of enterprise-grade banking software solutions. With an international client base across Europe and the Middle East, the company is entering its next phase of growth and seeks to appoint a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its global technology agenda and strengthen its position as a trusted partner to leading financial institutions.
Position Overview
The CTO will serve as a member of the executive management team and bear ultimate responsibility for the company’s technology strategy, architecture, and software product delivery. This individual will act as both a strategic visionary and an operational leader, combining expertise in modern enterprise software engineering with a deep understanding of banking requirements on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and drive the company’s overall technology strategy in close alignment with business objectives and international expansion.
- Define the enterprise software architecture to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and regulatory compliance across diverse banking markets.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of product development, from requirements definition and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Introduce and oversee adoption of modern technologies including cloud platforms, microservices, API ecosystems, data-driven architectures, and AI applications in financial services.
- Maintain oversight of information security, data protection, and compliance with jurisdiction-specific banking regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of engineers, architects, and product experts across multiple countries.
- Engage directly with international clients at executive level, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Cultivate strategic technology partnerships and manage vendor relationships to optimize the company’s software ecosystem.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., CTO, Chief Architect, VP Technology) within a fintech, banking software vendor, or large-scale enterprise software environment.
- Profound knowledge of banking and financial services processes, including but not limited to core banking, digital channels, payments, compliance, risk, and lending.
- Proven expertise in enterprise software design, architecture, and delivery at global scale, ideally with multi-country implementations.
- Deep technical knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including microservices, containerization, DevOps, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native development.
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity, regulatory environments, and open banking standards.
- Strong leadership track record: capable of building and guiding international engineering organizations while effectively engaging with C-level executives.
- Academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; postgraduate studies such as MBA are advantageous.
- Fluency in English; additional language capabilities are considered an asset.
The appointed CTO will assume a central leadership role in a growth-oriented fintech business at the forefront of digital banking transformation. The role provides a competitive executive-level remuneration package, including performance-based incentives, and involves regular international engagement with clients and partners.
