This job refers to the Automotive brands Autoscout24, Motoscout24, and CAR FOR YOU. We are on a journey to simplify our products and strengthen our technology stack through a large-scale rewrite. We’re building on a modern technology stack with Java, following best practices, and striving to build/measure/learn at a high cadence.
Together with our partner, we are looking for a: Data Engineer
to help us build a data-driven platform and work closely with data producers, owners, and users across various domains.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for data tools used across the data team and various teams across different data domains
- You will design and develop the data integration pipelines for the collection, storage, and transformation of our data assets in the data lake, building upon our data technology stack (dbt, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Kafka)
- You will ensure reliable operation and maintenance of the data infrastructure including orchestration of the cloud infrastructure, documentation, checks on data quality, and operational efficiency
- You will set up ingestion frameworks and data contracts with stakeholders that own data-producing systems, such as software engineering teams
- You will maintain a data catalogue to enable data-consuming stakeholders to discover, understand, trust, and access our data assets
- You will contribute to building and improving data products (transformations, dashboards, logical data warehouse models, etc.)
- You will help build the Automotive data platform of the future
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or equivalent
- A broad history of best practices from your past roles as a Data Engineer
- Hands-on experience with any cloud platform (GCP preferred) in relation to data ingestion, processing, warehousing, monitoring, orchestration and modeling
- Good understanding of database, data model, and data catalogue concepts
- Good knowledge of DevOps best practices and automation of documentation, testing, build, deployment, configuration, and monitoring
- Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of SQL and Python
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines using dbt, Cloud Functions, Kafka streams, etc.
- Good knowledge of cloud solutions, and microservices with specific expertise in the implementation of data pipelines
- Understanding of ETL best practices, scalability, complex process management
- Hands-on experience in building Data Ops pipelines using GitHub workflows
- Hands-on experience with Data Mesh and working in scrum teams
- Industry experience in online marketplaces and/or digital businesses
