At Microsoft Office team in Microsoft Development Center Serbia (MDCS), we have been focusing on reimagining and empowering Microsoft Office productivity through AI-powered user experiences and services built across core Microsoft Office applications. The team is relentlessly focused on making AI and tech work for people.

Data science team within Office Serbia is focused on end-to-end building and deploying state-of-the-art deep learning models for various AI applications across MS Office suite of products. Team is working with product and research teams around the globe on designing and building various deep learning models, such as Deep Transformer-based networks, GANs, Language models, Multi-modality fusion methods, etc. If you are passionate about applying cutting edge deep learning technology to positively impact the lives of millions of people, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities

Drive intelligent experiences projects through their entire lifecycle from idea creation through implementation, experimentation and finally to world-wide availability
Build and deploy deep learning models for Office scenarios
Work with research teams on adoption of latest technologies
Ensure performance and latency of models is appropriate for interactive real-time scenarios
Design and build feedback loops for retraining models from production
Measure the impact of models and work with product teams on appropriate designs of AI-powered experiences
Follow documentation and coding best practices

Qualifications

2+ years of research or product experience in machine learning, with focus on deep learning
Passion for discovering the next generation of groundbreaking technologies in machine learning
Fluency with recent ML advancements, e.g. transformers, distillation, etc.
Hands-on experience in Deep Learning using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
Strong coding skills in one or more of Python, C#, C/C++ .
Strong ability and effectiveness working in a significant technical problem domain, in the term of plan, design, execution, continuous release and service operation.
Passionate and self-motivated.
Ability to effectively work in collaborative multiple project team environment and ship model features in a fast-paced startup environment.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Customer/End results/Metrics driven in design and development.
Strong ability in self-learning, entering new domain, managing through uncertainty in an innovative team environment
