We are a group of experienced designers, programmers, product developers and marketers striving to make professionally animated motion graphics easy to use and accessible to everyone. To do that, we decided to build our own product and offer it to the world. Our startup journey started in Belgrade eight years ago, and in that time we grew into a global, profitable business with a product used by millions.

Rising to the occasion and finding our own way through problems is a guiding philosophy. Nearly the entire platform is custom-built, following only the principles of sound and scalable development. There are 19 of us at Videobolt. Our frontend team has been led by one of our founders since day one, building the foundation of everything users see and interact with. As we continue to grow, we're expanding this core team to support our platform's evolution and increasing demands.

If you join us, from day one you will be:

• diving into our core product – getting familiar with our frontend architecture and making meaningful contributions to our video-making platform right away
• improving the user experience – tackling UI bug fixes, optimizing existing frontend components and shipping minor features to enhance how our users interact with the platform
• ensuring quality and consistency – participating in code reviews and writing clean, maintainable code to ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.

Over time and following in-house training, you will reach the point where you will be:

• taking full ownership and leading the development of complex, high-impact features
• driving architectural decisions by proposing and implementing high-level structural improvements to enhance the speed, scalability and long-term maintainability of our frontend application
• mentoring and shaping the team by sharing your knowledge with newer team members, setting frontend best practices and actively shaping our engineering culture.
  

Don’t expect to be:

• working remotely full time
• solely focused on one task – this role is dynamic and requires flexibility
• working in a rigid, highly bureaucratic environment
• spending hours in meetings, either internal or external
• working directly with clients or handling client requests
• working with heavy supervision, and being told what to do (and how) on an hourly basis
• working overtime — we value your personal time, and any overtime is rare and only occurs in exceptional situations.

To be able to join us in this position, we expect you to have:

• 4+ years of experience as a Frontend Web Developer
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent degree/work experience)
• knowledge of web markup, including HTML and CSS
• knowledge of TypeScript, OOP
• experience working with version control systems such as Git
• ability to communicate in written and spoken English and Serbian in a work environment

At Videobolt, you will be:

• working 40 hours a week with an indefinite employment contract (with all tied benefits like social and health insurance, fully paid annual leave, sick leave, and maternity/paternity leave)

• working mainly from our cozy office in New Belgrade (+ occasionally from anywhere you like)
• earning a monthly salary in the Euro 1,800 to Euro 2,200 Net range
