The Role:

We are looking for a versatile Full Stack Software Developer to join our team. This is a remote position where you will work across our entire technology stack, contributing to customer-facing products, internal tools, and subscription/payment systems. You will work mostly independently with oversight from a remote lead manager.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain full stack applications using Java and Play Framework on the backend, and modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the frontend.
Design and implement user interfaces with a focus on usability and visual appeal, using Figma for design workflows.
Work with MongoDB databases for data storage and retrieval.
Manage DevOps tasks including deployments and server maintenance on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Route53, and related services).
Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
Write and maintain technical documentation.
Contribute to product planning and roadmap discussions.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in full stack software development.
Proficiency in Java and Play Framework.
Strong knowledge of modern HTML, CSS patterns, and JavaScript.
Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
UI/UX design skills with experience using Figma.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Route53).
Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Codex or Claude Code to optimize workflows.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Fluent in a Balkan language (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, or similar) for communication with the team.

Nice to Have:

Experience with subscription billing and payment systems.
Experience with Stripe or similar payment processors.
Previous startup or small team experience.
Relevant certifications in AWS, Java, or related technologies.

Compensation: $2,000-$4,000 USD per month.
