About the role
The GIS Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring that data are up to date and meeting technical requirements of Jadar Project and Serbian legislative. The incumbent will be working with Jadar project team, external consultants as well as with government agencies and Stakeholders on the field to ensure it.
The function deliver and maintains spatial data, documentation, maps, geospatial analysis and information management systems within the projects team and between external contractors and government agencies. All data must be of a global standard but also meet with the specific legal and technical requirements of the government of Serbia and regulations.
This is a critical role as without it would be unable in first place to complete land access and acquisition and provide maps and data analysis, which are providing valuable information and communication tool for designs suitable for approvals or project development.
Reporting to the Land Acquisition- GIS & Data Manager, you will:
- Ensure (with close cooperation with field team and local cadastre) that data regarding owners and parcel are up to date and meeting technical requirements of Jadar Project and Serbian legislative.
- Maintain and update of Land Acquisition Information Management System.
- Conduct quality control on database to ensure technical requirements are meet.
- Collaborate with all Land Acquisition Data Stakeholders to ensure that data are modelled according to their needs and existing data are well managed (Data Analysis, Data Quality, …)
- Provide support related to management of filed data collection, which may include tracking of data, administration of existing database and analysis, design new database (GPS data, traditional geodetic survey, ...)
- Prepare reports, analysis on daily, weekly and monthly level.
- Ensure that the data collected is in accordance with the technical requirements of the Jadar Project and the legislation of the Republic of Serbia.
- Conduct integrity work;
- Undertake compliance training as required by the role.
- Providing inputs for Spatial Planning, Environmental approvals and models, Community Social Performance, Mine design and logistics and operations and Collaborating with RTM to achieve individual and team results
- Demonstrate awareness and comply with the Rio Tinto Ventures Energy and Minerals safety standards at all time.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- University degree or degree of Technical Science.
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in a busy international office preferred.
- Excellent computer literacy including GIS and CAD software;
- Experience with Python considered beneficial.
- The role requires high order skills of different spatial data types and requirements of spatial data for the Jadar project.
- Proactive approach with ability to plan, priorities and deliver work with limited support.
- Language requirements: working proficiency in English and Serbian
- Driver`s licence, category B necessary
Where you will be working
The Jadar project is a greenfield Underground mine and process plant development located approximately 40km south-east of Loznica, Serbia. An underground mine, comprising of a production shaft, exhaust shaft, development levels, access to production stopes, mobile mining equipment and associated infrastructure. The process plant is designed to produce boric acid, lithium carbonate and sodium sulfate.
Jadar project commenced the feasibility study in Aug 2020. The project business strategy is to develop Jadar as a core, Tier 1 asset with synergies with Rio Tinto Business, enabling a green future and creating value for both Rio Tinto and Serbia. The project execution goal is to derive maximum value from Jadar for its stakeholders, while also delivering on the promised outcomes.
