The Role Description
Strawberry is looking for a motivated leader to drive development for its existing and new products (HW+SW). As a Head of Engineering you will be responsible for the roadmap, development and execution of core systems in our portfolio, leading engineers and contributing yourself technically, as well as maintaining a bar of technical excellence throughout the organization. The candidate needs to show outstanding technical and managerial skills, and to be passionate about bringing sustainable energy to the world.
Responsibilities
- Defines Technology stack for future products
- Lead development of HW/IoT/SW products from the beginning - throughout the cycles of development, manufacturing and release.
- Conducts research to improve the technological assets of a company
- Provide architectural and design directions
- Control tech debt and technical decisions across the stack: HW and SW
- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
- Introduces technology best practices to the rest of the team
- Mentoring and career development of the team
Required skills
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams or similar leadership roles
- Knowledge of technological trends
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to change direction quickly
- Getting the hands dirty from time to time
