Magic Media is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical VFX Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Technical VFX Artist, you will mentor and guide our talented artists while establishing best practices and documentation to maintain top-quality work. You’ll develop pipelines, tools, and workflows to streamline processes, lead research efforts to stay ahead of industry trends and facilitate workshops for ongoing team growth. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

• Mentoring and guiding Technical Artists and VFX artists.
• Establishing and designing documentation outlining best practices to maintain high-quality output from the department.
• Developing pipelines, tools, and workflows to enhance and streamline departmental processes.
• Initiating and overseeing research and development tasks to keep the team abreast of the latest industry trends and techniques.
• Leading and facilitating workshops.

YOUR PROFILE: 

• Minimum 8 years of Technical Artist experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar leadership role.
• Contributed to the development of at least one major game title.
• A passion for video games.
• Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills.
• Profound understanding of Art & Animation principles.
• Ability to make decisions regarding VFX/Technical direction in projects.
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the gaming industry.
• Versatile background across various game genres (mobile, PC/console, web, and NFT).

Desirable pluses: 

• Worked and Released AAA titles.
• Experience and Knowledge on Agile methodologies and tools (Jira).
• Understand of HLSL and GLSL.
• Experience with Procedural Content Creation Pipelines.
• Experience with AI models.
