Job Summary
The Onsite Services Technician ensures seamless IT operations and exceptional end-user experience by delivering hands-on technical support and managing workplace infrastructure across Schneider Electric sites. This role is critical to maintaining productivity and supporting digital innovation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Desk-side Support: Provide direct technical assistance for desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and related devices.
Hardware Break & Fix: Diagnose and repair hardware issues, manage replacements, and ensure data restoration.
- Warranty Management: Coordinate repairs with manufacturers and third-party vendors, handle warranty claims and logistics.
- Asset Tracking: Maintain accurate records of equipment status and user assignments in asset management systems.
IMACD Services: Perform Install, Move, Add, Change, and De-Install tasks for workplace equipment.
- Eyes and Hands Support: Execute technical tasks under remote team guidance, including resets and troubleshooting.
- Escort Services: Facilitate vendor visits for repairs and maintenance, ensuring compliance with Schneider Electric standards.
- Stock Management: Manage inventory levels and ensure availability of spare parts and accessories.
- VIP Support: Deliver priority support to VIP users with timely issue resolution.
- Onboarding: Assist new employees with IT asset delivery, setup, and training.
- Event Support: Provide technical assistance for special events, including A/V setup and troubleshooting.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field would be an advantage or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role
- Experience in hardware diagnostics, asset management, and technical troubleshooting.
Skills & Competencies
- Good technical knowledge of workplace equipment (PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing hardware issues.
- Good organizational skills for asset tracking and inventory management.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with end-users and vendors.
- Fluency in English and local language.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with warranty processes and vendor coordination.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Any certification would be an advantage
Tools & Technologies
- ServiceNow, SCCM, Active Directory, ITIL framework.
