Our SaaS system is hosted on AWS and built using LAMP technology stack. Our system improves school information entry, analysis and communication, fostering a data-driven school culture while increasing transparency with parents and pupils. On top of that, we use data collected during the school day to make predictions and suggest interventions in the aim of improving education outcomes in the public schools.
Our team in Belgrade is growing and we are looking for software engineers with a passion for data analysis and enterprise information systems.
Responsibilities
- Work with Tech Lead and Project Manager to understand the team’s priorities & goals, and contribute to sprint completion
- Using PHP7 and MySQL to write high quality, scalable and testable code
- Troubleshooting issues and performing analysis
- Engage and learn from peer code reviews on regular basis
- Actively involved in the implementation of Arbor Insight API, reports & dashboards for schools and MATs
- Maintain and develop data import process for Arbor Insight - ensuring that every year we have fewer bugs during our data import process & become more efficient at importing data
- Ensure our email campaigns are delivered on time and to high quality
- Periodic maintenance of company website
- Sharing domain knowledge with the team
- Build good relationships with other Engineering teams who we have dependencies on
Requirements
To do your magic you will need:
- 3+ years of experience working on software projects in an Object Oriented language(s) (e.g. PHP, Java, C#)
- Understanding of software engineering principles in PHP
- Genuine interest in, and previous experience with, data modelling and MySQL database system. Ideally you would really enjoy working in-depth with data!
- A positive and proactive attitude to problem solving
- A team player, willing to muck in and help others when needed, driven personality who asks questions and actively participates in discussions
- Good written and spoken English so you can present your ideas - our HQ is based in London
