Key Accountabilities

Release Manager within the role is to:

  • Monitor, maintain and ensure a compliance of process activities to the Release Management Process
  • Report to Stakeholders on a process performance and highlight process trends
  • Guide and support Release Management process administrators and process practitioners
  • Act as a First Point of Contact for Stakeholders in all questions related to Release Management process
  • Chair and participate in a conference calls related to release processing
  • Produce regular reports on process SLA/KPI
  • Cooperate with other cross-functional processes, such as Change, Problem, Request fulfillment and Incident Management, integrate the release management process with other IT processes
  • Regularly review Release Management documentation against its relevance and efficiency
  • Assist auditors in auditing Release Management process for compliance to laid-down procedures and standards, ensure that any resulting corrective action is carried out
  • Provision a training courses and regular awareness sessions over Release Management process to all Release Management process practitioners and Stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to make tactical improvements to the release management process
  • Agree on the Release Classifications and on a content of a specific release package
  • Facilitate release planning meetings with Stakeholders to identify proper sequencing of release packages
  • Ensure that issues and risks associated with a release are identified, understood, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risk to a release scope and schedule
  • Define and agree Deployment plans with Stakeholders
  • Ensure that each Release is tested, verified and approved by Stakeholders
  • Produce and publish release implementation reports
  • Instigate a post implementation review as and when appropriate
  • Initiate post-deployment activities as and when appropriate

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in ITSM process management and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders, and within a business-facing role
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Visio, Project), ITSM software, and concepts/ techniques for process training
  • Advanced knowledge of ITSM software workflows
  • Advanced knowledge of ITSM processes to include but not limited to analysis, design, build, continuous improvement
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Visio, and Project), ITSM software, and adult education theories, concepts, and techniques for product and process training

The candidate should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • General awareness on modern IT technological stack (software distribution, data center and user workspace operations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Ability to work autonomously and make critical or time-sensitive decisions with minimal guidance and oversight
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • ITIL Intermediate (RCV) certification preferred
