The Sales Engineer will be the technical champion in the sales process, providing deep product knowledge, solution architecture expertise, and hands-on demonstrations tailored to each customer’s unique needs. You will work closely with account executives, product teams, and customers to ensure successful proof-of-concepts and smooth onboarding.
This role is ideal for someone who is both technically skilled and commercially savvy, someone who can discuss indexing strategies one moment and ROI calculations the next.
Your responsibilities:
- Partner with sales teams to identify customer needs and present RavenDB solutions effectively.
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations (onsite and remote).
- Design, build, and support proof-of-concepts and pilot deployments.
- Collaborate with customers’ technical teams to design solution architectures.
- Provide feedback from the field to the product and engineering teams.
- Represent RavenDB at industry events, trade shows, and developer conferences.
- Assist in responding to RFPs and technical documentation requests.
Our requirements:
- Based in Europe with eligibility to work in your country of residence.
- 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solution architecture role.
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL, cloud databases).
- Ability to quickly learn and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Comfortable traveling across Europe (~10-15% of time).
Optional:
- Experience with RavenDB, MongoDB, Couchbase, or similar NoSQL databases.
- Background in software development (C#, JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar languages).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, etc.) a plus.
