Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, automate, and operate the cloud and Kubernetes platforms that power Basiq’s Open Finance API ecosystem.

Your work will directly support mission-critical systems, improve developer productivity, and ensure our platform remains secure, scalable, and highly reliable.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Designing and improving AWS-managed infrastructure using Terraform and automation best practices.
• Supporting and growing our Kubernetes platforms as we scale their adoption.
• Building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
• Developing automation and internal tooling in Bash, Python, or Go to streamline developer workflows.
• Working with AWS serverless services such as Lambda and API Gateway.
• Improving system observability and reliability using Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Contributing to our internal developer platform using Backstage to enable self-service and better developer experience.
• Collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, and Security on secure, scalable cloud solutions.
• Participating in incident response, troubleshooting, and ongoing platform improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Deep experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform.
• Solid experience operating and supporting Kubernetes/EKS in production.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Docker, and deployment automation.
• Experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD preferred).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Strong understanding of containers, networking, and distributed systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud and platform issues.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability tooling or SRE practices.
• Exposure to security, governance automation, or policy-as-code.
• Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms, platform templates, or self-service workflows.
