Job Title: Sr Firewall Engineer
Job Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Job type: Full-time Permanent Contract
Work Mode: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain firewall infrastructure, including next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and related security appliances.
Develop and enforce firewall rules and policies based on security best practices and business requirements.
Monitor firewall logs and security events to identify and respond to potential threats.
Troubleshoot complex firewall issues and provide timely support to other IT teams.
Implement and maintain VPN solutions for secure remote access.
Collaborate with security architects and other team members to develop and implement security strategies.
Research and evaluate new firewall technologies and make recommendations for improvements.
Automate firewall management tasks using scripting or other tools.
Develop and maintain firewall documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Participate in security incident response and investigations.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior security engineers.
Participate in on-call rotation for firewall support.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in firewall engineering, with a focus on design, implementation, and management.
Deep understanding of firewall technologies, including stateful inspection, application-level filtering, and intrusion prevention.
Hands-on experience with various firewall platforms, such as Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower.
Strong knowledge of network security best practices and standards.
Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
