Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Python/AI)

Role Description

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Python/AI) to join us on a contract/fractional basis (~20 hrs/week)

You’ll play a hands-on role in designing and building scalable, production-ready systems from APIs and async workflows to AI-powered features. This is a senior role with real ownership, not a task-based contractor position.

What you’ll do

• Design and build backend systems in Python (FastAPI, async patterns)
• Work across the stack, with strong awareness of frontend and product needs
• Develop and ship AI/LLM-powered features into production
• Design APIs, workflows, and background processing systems
• Review code and help maintain high engineering standards
• Collaborate closely with product and other engineers in a remote setup

What we're looking for

Strong experience in:

• Python and backend architecture
• FastAPI and API design
• Async systems, queues, and background workflows
• SaaS and multi-tenant architectures
• Shipping AI / LLM features to production

Plus points for:

• Frontend or product sensibility (you don’t build APIs in a vacuum)
• Strong ownership and judgment — you’re comfortable making trade-offs
• Experience working as a contractor or in fractional roles
• Clear communication and comfort working fully remote
