Senior Microsoft SQL Server & MySQL Database Administrator

We are expanding our team and seeking several (Senior) Database administartors to join us.

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server & MySQL DBA to support and optimize enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The role combines database administration, performance optimization, high availability, disaster recovery, automation, security, and database modernization for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL environments
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including queries, indexes, blocking, locking, deadlocks, CPU, memory, and I/O
• Design and support HA/DR solutions, including SQL Server Always On, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication, and MySQL replication/failover
• Manage backup, restore, recovery, database integrity, and disaster recovery testing
• Support cloud database environments such as Amazon RDS, Aurora MySQL, and Azure SQL Database
• Automate database administration and operational processes using T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, and Bash/Shell
• Support CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and database migration/modernization initiatives
• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance practices
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, recovery procedures, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to ensure database reliability and scalability

Requirements:

• 6+ years of database administration experience in enterprise or mission-critical environments
• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration experience
• 3+ years of MySQL administration experience
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2017–2022/2025 and MySQL 5.x/8.x
• Strong experience with T-SQL, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and HA/DR
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Always On, replication, clustering, or similar technologies
• Experience with cloud database services, preferably AWS and/or Azure
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or Oracle
• Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other regulated environments
• Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, AWS, Azure, or MySQL
• Experience with tools such as Datadog, SolarWinds, SQL Sentry, Idera, or CloudWatch
