Senior Support Engineer

Project Description

Client develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a variety of asset classes and global markets. We seek to produce high-quality predictive signals (alphas) through our proprietary research platform to employ financial strategies focused on exploiting market inefficiencies. Our teams work collaboratively to drive the production of alphas and financial strategies – the foundation of a sustainable, global investment platform.
Technologists at Client’s research, design, code, test and deploy projects while working collaboratively with researchers and portfolio managers. Responsibilities

• Integrate with internal software, OSS, commercial tools, CI/CD pipelines and on-premises virtualization
• Communicate effectively during incident management
• Contribute with empathy to the team's code quality through code reviews and direct feedback
• Monitor critical systems and learn how to triage them.
• Take on ticket based work

Skills

Must have

• Understanding Linux platform components: file systems, processes, memory, networking, etc.
• Understanding of Kubernetes
• Clear communication in English is a requirement
• A 4+ years Computer Science from a reputable institution
• Required experience operating and automating "bare-metal" Linux systems
• Demonstrated ability to operate distributed applications on Linux/Unix platforms
• Good understanding of SQL database operation and programming
• Prior experience in the financial industry is not required, but a plus
• Mature, thoughtful, able to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
• Motivated by the transformational effects of technology-at-scale
• Experience with source control methods such as GitHub or GitLab

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Python, familiarity with Bash scripting
