Snowflake Data Engineer with Banking Domain

We are extending our team of Data engineers with Snowflake developers. The selected candidate will be a part of a new Snowflake-centric data team and will be working closely with our end-client team, a large US bank that is modernizing and extending its existing DWH solution.

The scope of activities of the team will include:

• Unifying similar data from different products stored in separate product silos
• Implement full and incremental loads in batch-processing fashion
• Efficiently handle streaming data (Kafka streams) and REST-based services
• Data modeling using Kimball methodology
• Combining batch and streaming data into the centralized data store
• Implement various aggregations on top of the created data marts
• Performance tuning and optimizations
• Establish and follow data engineering best practices within and beyond the team

Job requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Software Development industry with a focus on Data and Analytics projects
• Experience with team collaboration systems/software (git, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, SCRUM, Kanban
• Excellent English language capabilities

Technical requirements:

• Proficient with Relational and Dimensional modeling in at least one of the following: Snowflake/ Oracle / Kudu
• Excellent knowledge of PL-SQL language
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript
• Good understanding of Data Warehousing methodologies (Kimball and/or Data Vault 2.0)
• Experience in a scripting language such as Python

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Azure/AWS/ GCP cloud
• Experience with handling Streaming data (Kafka Streams/Spark Streaming)
• Experience with ETL tools compatible with Snowflake to create Data Pipelines/Data Orchestration components
• Experience in the banking or finance domain
