Software Asset Management Specialist

GeminiSix provides consulting and professional services focused on helping organizations correctly manage their IT assets including on-premise software, SaaS and cloud computing spend. Our services help to protect our client’s IT investments, by identifying what they own, where it’s running, and if these assets are used efficiently. Our goal is to reduce technology debt in terms of costs and limit business and legal risk related to the ownership and use of software, while maximizing IT responsiveness and end-user productivity.

Software Asset Management Specialist

Responsibilities

1. Software Catalog Services:

• Updating and maintaining software catalog database  
• Software research and categorization 
• Creating software recognition rules 
• Software lifecycle information research & update 
• Technical versioning 
• UNSPSC software classification

2. Software Procurement Services:

• Handling license procurement requests for software and verifying client’s requirements based upon Client’s standards.
• Liaising with Client concerning non-standard requests
• Collecting quotes from approved supplier (s).
• Placing orders in approved procurement and supply chain tools.
• Liaising with Supplier and relevant Client Teams to on-board the Supplier for missing Countries in Procurement Tool.
• End to end management of subscription-based license assignment. (Example: Adobe, Autodesk, Microsoft Visio, Project, Visual Studio)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
• Experience with online research and basic understanding of Internet concepts 
• Experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office, video conferencing and more
• Good written and verbal command of technical English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Optional 

• Good knowledge German language
• Experience with IT systems administration, Operating system installation & maintenance
