Tegus Medical is a Hamburg, Germany-based medical technology company founded in 2019 in collaboration with physicians from the University Hospital of Hamburg. Together, we developed an innovative camera system and video streaming platform that enables physicians to provide remote procedural support from anywhere in the world.

Our technological solution empowers physicians to share their expertise in real-time, with the goal of improving patient safety. The platform enhances daily clinical operations while facilitating knowledge transfer and technique sharing between experienced physicians and their mentees or junior colleagues.

Responsibility and Authority

We are seeking a talented and experienced software developer to join our European team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to develop and enhance the software components of our innovative medical technology products.

You will collaborate closely with product developers and our dedicated software development team to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support healthcare professionals worldwide. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the medical technology field while working with a dynamic, international team.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement new software functionalities according to specifications and suggest improvements
• Maintain thorough documentation of systems and applications
• Troubleshoot, debug errors or issues that arise
• Fix identified bugs in the platform

Required Skills/Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a software development role
• Competency in PHP and TypeScript is required
• Experience with different operating systems with a focus on Linux variants
• Experience with developing in cloud environments (AWS)
• Full understanding of SDLC (Waterfall and Agile) methodologies
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Experience with software version control systems
• Familiarity with DevOps principles/tools
• Attention to detail

Highly desirable skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
• Experience with Symfony framework and Angular framework
• Experience with programming languages: Python, Go, Java, Rust, JavaScript is desirable
• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Experience with security aspects of web applications
• Experience with Kubernetes, OAuth2, Docker
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar technologies
• Experience with database design and data modelling
• Working experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress
• Experience with mobile development, preferably Flutter framework
• Experience with streaming technologies and WebRTC server-based architectures: MCU/SFU
• Experience working in a remote team
