As a DevOps engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to help support and grow the Voltron Data and Apache Arrow ecosystems. You will work closely with Voltron Data development teams to help build, test, benchmark, and package C++, Python, R, and other libraries as well as containers.

Timeline:
Below is a rough timeline of where you can expect to be at different points during your career path starting in this position.
Upon joining and within a month:
- Learning our team's current processes and pipelines for building, testing, benchmarking, and packaging
- Growing your experience of key infrastructure and services, including how to maintain and repair them
- Resolving reported issues or problems with other DevOps team members
Within 3 months:
- Contributing with team members on longer-term development projects to build custom tooling and technology to improve the development process
- Collaborating with developers to develop new tools and embrace standardized development practices
After 6 months:
- Crafting proposals to address identified bottlenecks and improve existing solutions through forward-thinking approaches
- Growing responsibilities to own and maintain key infrastructure, tooling, pipelines and/or processes, mentoring others in the future
- Evaluating new tools and services for potential use and reporting findings for team review:
Previous experience that could be helpful:
- Building and/or releasing Docker images, Conda, pip, R, Debian, and/or RPM packages
- Administrating Linux systems such as Ubuntu and CentOS both in cloud and remotely
- Managing environments with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Pulumi.
- Developing tools with scripting languages such as Bash, Python
- Using and managing CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, BuildKite, GitHub Actions and others
- Working with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or others
- Developing on open-source repositories and community building on GitHub
- Experience working with infrastructure deployment automation, monitoring and performance tuning (cloud, bare-metal linux servers) at scale
- Kubernetes, specifically workloads that can leverage the underlying hardware: GPU direct storage, etc.

US Compensation - The salary range for this role is between $175,000-$205,000. We have a global market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the exact base pay will vary based on factors such as actual work location, skills and experience of the candidate. This position is also eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards.
