BidMachine is an ML-powered app Monetization platform with Global Demand.
The current team consists of 50+ people and we are looking for a Tech Lead to make it even stronger.
As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for the technical vision, development, and execution of our advertising network and exchange. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Business development, Account managers, Sales, Marketing, etc., and manage the Engineering team, to drive scalable, high-performance systems that align with business goals. This role requires strong leadership abilities, advanced technical skills, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Define and execute the technical strategy for our advertising network/exchange, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Lead architectural decisions, design, and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and standards to maintain a competitive edge in AdTech.
Team Management
- Mentor, guide, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Ensure team alignment with engineering best practices, quality assurance, and documentation standards.
- Act as a hands-on contributor while balancing team leadership responsibilities.
Project Ownership
- Collaborate with the Product team to translate product vision into robust, scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and technical design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Drive efficient and agile project execution, managing priorities and timelines effectively.
Optimization and Scaling
- Ensure optimal performance, uptime, and reliability of the ad exchange platform.
- Implement best practices for data processing, API performance, and latency reduction to support billions of ad requests daily.
- Develop and refine algorithms to improve yield, targeting, and ad delivery efficiency.
Compliance and Security
- Oversee adherence to industry standards for data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and security.
- Implement security best practices across all layers of the stack to protect data integrity and user privacy.
Cost efficiency
- Optimize and maintain costs of infrastructure and services.
- Manage team compensation.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role within an ad tech industry.
- Proficient in technologies used in AdTech (e.g., Scala, Python, or Rust) and cloud services (AWS, DataBricks).
- Strong knowledge of programmatic advertising, RTB (Real-Time Bidding), DSPs (Demand Side Platforms), SSPs (Supply Side Platforms), and related protocols like OpenRTB.
- Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally to align teams with product goals.
- Data and Analytics:
- Experience with data streaming and processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with a focus on performance optimization and real-time data processing.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the AdTech ecosystem, including the latest trends in digital advertising, programmatic, and privacy regulations.
