We develop high-performance software solutions in the field of construction and building technology and are looking for an experienced Unity 3D developer to develop a product for visualizing and interacting with digital twins and point clouds in the AWS Cloud.
Your Tasks:
- Development of a Unity-based application for real-time visualization of point clouds in the AWS Cloud that enables seamless interaction with large amounts of data.
- Point cloud data management: Implementation of data compression, spatial indexing and efficient loading mechanisms (e.g. chunking) to ensure maximum performance and stability.
- Performance optimization through multithreading and GPU-based rendering to ensure smooth work with millions of points in real time.
- Meshing and surface reconstruction techniques: Application of algorithms to convert point clouds into detailed 3D meshes.
- Development of a LOD (Level of Detail) system that dynamically adapts the display to the proximity of the camera.
- Automated target-actual comparison: Ensuring an object-oriented and georeferenced comparison between point cloud and IFC model in the AWS Cloud, related to research project BIMCheck to create an MVP for MEP engineers.
- Collaboration with engineers: Close collaboration with engineering teams to collect and validate MEP (technical components in a building) training data for a precise and robust application.
- Collaboration and cloud functionalities: Development of tools for real-time collaboration and data management in the cloud for seamless teamwork.
Your profile:
- Experience in Unity development, with a focus on 3D visualization and handling massive data sets and point clouds.
- Proficiency with cloud technologies, including AWS for hosting and maintaining point cloud data, as well as C# and Unity shader programming.
- Knowledge of meshing and LOD methods and how to use them in Unity.
- Experience with GPU rendering and performance tuning.
- It is advantageous to be familiar with BIMCHECK/MEPCHECK and object-oriented, georeferenced comparisons between point clouds and IFC models.
- Being familiar with real-time data management and cloud integration, particularly with AWS.
- The capacity for multidisciplinary collaboration with engineers to produce validated training data, as well as analytical thinking and teamwork.
- English working proficiency.
