Purpose of the Role

Well funded US-based startup with incredible customer-base is looking to hire a rockstar VP Engineering. The founder is a highly successful and widely respected entrepreneur with a record of successfully building companies. We’re looking for a professional with experience and familiarity within the enterprise software market and high growth as a must, ERP/Supply Chain as preferred.

As a well established engineering and technology leader you will direct a highly specialized team of seasoned IT professionals working on the design and development of a high quality enterprise software products providing analytics, monitoring, scorecards, and many other data management tools. You will lead and expand the technology initiatives from technical and non-technical stakeholders, while leveraging critical thinking, business know-how and excellent communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the VP of Product and the leadership team to set strategy
• Offer hands on technical mentorship to engineering teams participating in architecture design, code review, pair programming, and implementation of proven software design patterns
• Ensure scalability of highly visible enterprise products and services
• Participate in recruiting diverse top tier engineering talent against an aggressive hiring roadmap
• Accelerate and optimize developer velocity by helping to implement best practices and owning results
• Engage with Product Management, Program Management, Design, Data/Analytics, Devops teams to deliver world class experiences

Required Experience & Knowledge

• 7+ years development experience delivering successful highly scalable technology solutions in product companies
• Experience managing cross functional/multidisciplinary distributed teams
• Strong mastery of modern web technologies and JavaScript frameworks (React, Redux) as well as Python, Django
• Experience with Deep Crawling a plus (Scrapy, etc.)
• Deep experience working with Azure technologies or AWS
• Database Experience – Postgres or other relational databases
• Experience using Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
• Experience with modern devstack (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as cloud hosting solutions

Required Education & Qualifications

• Excellent English
• BS or MA in Computer Science, or relevant work experience
