Skills set you should possess:

• Good understanding of SQL (e.g. stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers)
• Experience or proficiency with SQL, PLSQL, Shell, Python/Perl
• Very good understanding of relational databases (including tables, views, indexes, tablespaces etc.)
• Experience with any industry-leading NoSQL database engines will be considered a plus
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting is mandatory
• Ability to identify system impact for small and large-scale initiatives
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English is mandatory

Day to day challenges:

• Database server status monitoring and administration
• Identifying good practices and improvements to be adopted for current and future implementations
• Running and maintaining database servers as part of client's hosted solutions
• Assisting in maintenance of client database servers Support for and creation of scripts, SQL queries, reports
• Support internal and external BI solutions
• Support data migrations as part of client projects
• Support load testing and optimization projects
• Support application security tests
• Work closely and learn with our internal DB specialist
