DevOps Engineer
This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in DevOps practices, combined with experience in managing and tuning Linux-based systems and Oracle databases. You will work closely with our Senior DevOps Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance our infrastructure, with a particular focus on ensuring operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps & Infrastructure Operations
- Participate in provisioning, managing, and monitoring infrastructure (OCI & AWS).
- Contribute to automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Support containerized workloads and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios).
System Administration
- Perform Linux system administration and troubleshooting (VMs, containers, services).
- Configure and maintain secure, stable, and scalable systems.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational best practices.
Oracle Database Administration
- Perform regular Oracle DB maintenance, including backups, patching, and performancetuning.
- Assist in managing schema updates and supporting application teams with DB-related needs.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and database replication/availability efforts.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Work closely with DevOps, Development, and QA teams.
- Act as a reliable operational support engineer with autonomy over day-to-day infrastructure health.
- Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or System Administration.
- Solid hands-on experience with Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, Ansible.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members across time zones.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and share knowledge, team player.
- Attention to details and dedication to quality.
Nice to Have
- Oracle DBA skills, including backup/restore, schema management, performance tuning, etc.
- Experience with OCI or AWS.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Helm, or container orchestration concepts.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
- Awareness of security practices in system and database administration.
- Experience working in an ISO27001 or GDPR compliant environment.
