Platform Engineering Manager

We’re hiring a Platform Engineering Manager to lead one or more of our high-impact platform teams that build the internal tooling, infrastructure and shared services powering every product domain. As part of our fast-scaling engineering organization, you’ll play a key leadership role in developing both the people and the socio-technical systems that enable engineers to deliver value quickly, safely and reliably.

Reporting to a Director of Engineering and collaborating closely with Product, Architecture, Security and other engineering leaders, you will be accountable for your teams’ outcomes and for shaping the platform ecosystem - fostering quality, high-performing teams and a smooth flow from concept to production. You will help shape a strong team culture rooted in ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement - supporting engineers to do their best work and stream-aligned teams to deliver real value at speed and scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead & grow a Platform team: coach, mentor and empower engineers while delivering services that increase developer velocity and system reliability
• Foster continuous delivery & feedback loops: cultivate self-service pipelines, rapid feedback and data-driven learning to uphold quality across environments.
• Shape the platform roadmap with Product & Architecture: collaborate to balance near-term needs of product teams with long-term sustainability, reliability and cost efficiency
• Embed engineering excellence: bake in observability, scalability, performance, security and maintainability through automation and “golden paths.”
• Operate and evolve the platform services you own: monitor health, respond to incidents, implement SLOs/error budgets and drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance and cost-efficiency.
• Own delivery management & drive execution excellence: measure and optimize flow metrics, remove bottlenecks and ensure predictable delivery
• Scale & nurture the organization: hire, onboard and retain diverse platform talent, reinforce team health and foster an inclusive engineering culture.
• Champion cross-team initiatives: partner with Stream-Aligned teams to improve developer experience, reduce cognitive load and support sustainable growth
• Manage change & incidents: steer teams calmly through platform migrations and production issues, protecting focus, reliability and morale
• Engage stakeholders: maintain transparent communication, celebrate wins and align expectations across Product, Security, Finance and executive leadership.

What You’ll Need:

• 2+ years of Platform, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering Manager (or similar) experience and 7+ years overall in engineering.
• Proven success leading autonomous platform teams.
• Solid understanding of modern cloud architectures (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), automated testing, DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Track record of hiring, coaching and retaining engineering talent and developing high-performing, collaborative team dynamics.
• Experience running services with SLOs, incident response and a post-incident learning culture.
• Ability to align platform strategy and execution with product and business goals, including cost optimisation and security compliance.
• Experience working in agile, iterative development environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder-management skills.
