TrustMotion part of NXP is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our growing team working on next-generation AI solutions for embedded platforms.
The role focuses on the development, architecture, fine-tuning, optimization, and deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs), with a strong emphasis on bringing AI from concept to execution on hardware platforms.
- Design, develop, and optimize AI solutions based on LLMs and VLMs
Independently solve complex AI engineering problems and drive their implementation - Contribute to the architecture and technical design of AI solutions
- Fine-tune models for specific use cases and domains
- Develop and maintain AI agents using modern agentic frameworks
- Design and develop MCP tools and integrate them into AI agent workflows
- Evaluate model performance, accuracy, latency, and resource utilization
- Deploy and optimize AI models on embedded and edge computing platforms
- Create proof-of-concepts and contribute to product development activities
- Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members
- Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and industry trends
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong programming skills
- Good understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, VLMs, or other Generative AI systems
- Experience with model fine-tuning and evaluation techniques
- Experience using AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or similar
- Strong understanding of AI system design and software engineering best practices
- Experience with Agentic AI frameworks
Experience with MCP tools and AI tool integration - Understanding of version control systems and collaborative software development practices
- Knowledge of model optimization and edge AI deployment
- Experience with Linux environments
- Experience working with multimodal AI systems
- Embedded systems experience, particularly in AI model deployment and performance optimization
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers
- Work at the intersection of AI and embedded systems
- Develop solutions that run on real-world embedded hardware
- Work on challenging AI problems from architecture and development through deployment
- Continuous exposure to the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

U prve dvije godine rada u kompaniji dosta sam brzo napredovao, kako što se tiče plaće, tako i znanja. Team building, druženja, mnogo dobrih kolega koji su uvijek spremni pomoći, dva dana remote rada tjedno. Udemy tečajevi o trošku firme i organizirani interni handoveri.
Zamerke
Jako je teško steći senioritet, a napredak općenito ovisi isključivo o tome inicirate li sami da želite nešto dodatno naučiti. Međutim, postoji i kontraefekt: ako pokažete mnogo znanja, sve se više posla prebacuje na vas i postajete “go-to” osoba za 90% stvari, pa samim time ne stižete obaviti svoje svakodnevne zadatke. Svakodnevni pritisak na svim projektima s nemogućim rokovima. Dodao bih još i to da su Leadovi upoznati možda s 20% onoga što radite, što dodatno otežava posao jer im morate objašnjavati procese. (U suštini, oni su tu da proslijede poruke od onih iznad koji ih izdaju – i to je sve.) Nedovoljna plaća za trenutačni standard života
