Senior Backend Developer - Gowago Team

Gowago is a team of 37 enthusiastic and talented people from many different nationalities working together on the next-generation car marketplace.

Together with our partner, we are looking for a: Senior Backend Developer (TypeScript) 

to help the team take the platform to the next level. You would be a part of a product team consisting of 14 people who take pride in a fast pace, execution excellence, and clean codebase.

Technology stack:

• Main services are written in Typescript using Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, etc.
• Several microservices and Lambda functions written mostly in Typescript but also in Python and Go
• New services are based on an event-driven, serverless architecture
• Our front-end is written in Typescript using the Next.js framework and hosted on Vercel
• Our back-end is mostly hosted on AWS and we have modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code

Your responsibilities:

• Plan and implement new features on the backend in Typescript (or whatever other language is better suited for the task)
• Come up with a sustainable and performant new architecture and decide on the right technology for the job
• Help solve hard problems the engineers in the team are facing and perform rigorous peer reviews on the pull requests 
• Ensure that the codebase follows best practices including unit, integration, and e2e testing
• Collaborate with the product teams and business stakeholders to define and create new amazing features
• Monitor and maintain the current infrastructure

Your profile:

• Eager to work in a young team with a lot of freedom, flexibility, and responsibility
• 5+ years of experience working with web technologies
• Solid knowledge of modern backend architecture
• Very passionate about coding and technology in general
• In-depth knowledge of Typescript and proficient in web technologies
• Engineering Mindset
• Fluent English speaker
• Experience with setting up new infrastructure elements on AWS as code is a plus
• If you like cars and are interested in the transportation and mobility of the future it would be considered a plus
