We are looking for Software Engineers that will work and collaborate on teams and projects with responsibility for designing and delivering secure, distributed, scalable and fault tolerant services, end-user applications and APIs. Responsibilities:
- Work with architects and business owners on clarifying requirements, provide feedback, offer technical solutions, provide implementation estimates.
- Plan and coordinate work between cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to assure timely implementation and delivery to production environment
- Be a technical leader and a go-to person for your area, and a sounding board for other peers in other areas and teams.
- Coach junior team members, work across engineering teams, provide technical leadership and make it happen.
- Work in close communication with RingCX SRE team on performance and quality of the RingCX services
- Review requirements and translate them into technical implementation – focusing on responding with output that delivers on the business value.
- Follow internal coding style and principle to design and implement business system based on requirements
- Promote and contribute to all aspects of employing automation, across all test layers and development pipelines. (from unit through functional up to and including end to end/system/solution test).
- Seek to maximize test coverage across all test layers by contributing to test case backlog and implementation using wide variety of test and test automation frameworks
- Push boundary for continual quality and automation on code base and product
- Build/Create modern backend services and APIs to operate in real-time/near real-time system/domain
- Perform design, architecture and code reviews for your RingCX team & other developers and continuously look for opportunities to improve and optimize code quality
- Effectively communicate and collaborate on design and technology with management and other engineering teams
- Push for continual improvements of engineering processes and tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent, is required
- 5+ years in an engineering software development role building backend services and APIs having experience with SaaS, event driven, highly available, scalable, resilient systems delivering enterprise grade commercial cloud services.
- Strong problem solving skills, can-do attitude with the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of technical problems
- Experienced with agile-type rapid development, CI/CD
- Great communication skills; ability to effectively present ideas and thoughts
- Willingness to take ownership of the tasks and to achieve targets with minimum supervision
- Ruby (and Ruby on Rails) or other similar technologies and can learn it quickly.
- Experienced with front-end technologies, should it be JavaScript or CSS.
- Experience with databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis…), know their differences, and how they work
- Understand the *nix environment and associated concepts (socket blocking/non blocking, thread, process, fork…)
Nice to have:
- Experience with Contact Center solutions is a plus
- Experience with message bus and streaming technologies (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
- Experience building real-time/near real-time application is a plus
- Demonstrated experience deploying applications and API services of Enterprise grade that scale to thousands of users
