UX/UI Developer/Designer - part time

Tegus Medical is a Hamburg, Germany-based medical technology company founded in 2019 in collaboration with physicians from the University Hospital of Hamburg. Together, we developed an innovative camera system and video streaming platform that enables physicians to provide remote procedural support from anywhere in the world.

Our technological solution empowers physicians to share their expertise in real-time, with the goal of improving patient safety. The platform enhances daily clinical operations while facilitating knowledge transfer and technique sharing between experienced physicians and their mentees or junior colleagues.

By bridging geographical barriers, we help expand access to specialized medical expertise and foster collaborative learning in healthcare environments worldwide.

Responsibility and Authority

We are seeking a talented and experienced UI/graphic designer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to design, develop and enhance the UI components of our innovative medical technology products. 

You will collaborate closely with product developers and our dedicated software development team to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support healthcare professionals worldwide. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the medical technology field while working with a dynamic, international team.

Key Job Responsibilities

• UI design & wireframing: Develop clear and logical information architecture, user flows, and wireframes to structure and organize content and interactions.
• Prototyping & Testing: Create interactive prototypes of varying fidelity to test and validate design concepts with users and stakeholders. Iterate on designs based on feedback.
• UI Design & Visual Language: Design intuitive, visually appealing, and consistent user interfaces across various platforms, adhering to and evolving our design system and brand guidelines.
• Preparing graphical materials for conferences, marketing materials, presentation improvements, etc.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
• Design System Contribution: Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design execution.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify design challenges and propose creative, user-centric solutions.
• Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in UI/UX design.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, preferably within a SaaS environment.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design process, including examples of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for web and/or mobile applications.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
• Ability to create clear and concise user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Strong visual design skills with an excellent eye for typography, color, layout, and iconography.
• Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively articulate design decisions and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Attention to detail

Highly desirable skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree in web, graphic design or a related field
• UX design experience
• Experience with software version control systems
• Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with mobile development
• Experience working in a remote team
