New facility to serve as a hub for networking events, technical summits and educational programs for the creative community
Epic Games and 3Lateral are opening a new facility in Novi Sad's Science and Technology Park to foster collaboration with local researchers, creators, and educators. The new location will provide cutting-edge resources for 3Lateral's R&D and Animation teams while offering valuable educational programs, such as the Unreal Fellowship and Fortnite Creative Fundamentals, to the community. The 220-seat auditorium at Science and Technology Park will host Community Summits, events showcasing the latest work, and technology from MetaHuman and the Epic Games ecosystem.
"We’re opening doors in Novi Sad to help build a vibrant community of artists, developers, researchers and innovators,” said Adam Kovač, Solution Specialist at 3Lateral. “Together, we’ll learn how to create and animate high-fidelity digital humans using MetaHuman technologies, use Unreal Engine to create interactive experiences and immersive digital worlds, and design, develop, and publish games and experiences directly into Fortnite using Fortnite’s creative tools. We can’t wait to see how the Serbian creator community will come together and make even more of an impact on the 3D industry—in Europe and beyond.”
3Lateral has announced the launch of two educational programs aimed at nurturing creative talent. The first program,Unreal Fellowship: Storytelling, started in May and targets established computer graphics artists looking to up-skill themselves in real-time technology using Unreal Engine. The second program, called Fortnite Creative Fundamentals, is designed for novice creatives and gamers who want to learn how to build games and experiences using Fortnite's Creative toolset. Applications for the summer program are open until May 30th, with additional dates to be added during the summer.
Vladimir Mastilović, founder of 3Lateral and Vice President of Digital Human Technologies at Epic Games, shared his hopes at the grand opening. “We are dedicated to creating technologies that enable the development of new content for creators. This physical space will allow us to interact with and gain collective inspiration from our industry collaborators, students, colleagues from other industries, and academics–and hopefully, stimulate the development of new creative ideas in our community.”
The construction of the new Epic Games and 3Lateral campus, located near the University Center on Radnička Street in Novi Sad, is progressing smoothly and more updates will be shared soon.
